Drake Angeron

Drake Angeron joined the JMU Millers coaching staff as a graduate assistant in the Spring of 2024. Drake is a native of Morgan City, LA where he attended Central Catholic High School. Drake helped the CCHS Eagles to back-to-back state title games, winning the 2016 championship before finishing runner-up in 2017.

Drake finished his college career in May of 2023 at Louisiana Christian University where he holds the single-season hits record. His career college batting average is .349 over his 4-year career with 170 games played, 616 At-Bats, 215 hits, 11 HRs and 61 Stolen Bases.

As a redshirt freshman in 2019, Drake led Dodge City Community College with a .365 Batting Average, 73 hits, 3 Home Runs, 57 runs, and 22 stolen bases. He was the only player to appear in all 54 games.

In 2021, Angeron earned All-Conference honors for the MIAA. He led the Fort Hays State Tigers with a .341 batting average while tying for the team lead with 43 base hits while swiping a team-high 12 bases. Drake led the team with 14 multi-hit games, including six-straight games with two or more hits. He was recognized by the MIAA as one of the toughest players in the conference to strike out, going down on strikes just 11 times in 126 at-bats.

As a Senior in 2023, Angeron earned first-team All-Conference honors and a Gold Glove Award. He led the Louisiana Christian University Wildcats with a .410 Batting Average, scoring 51 runs, 6 home runs, and 9 stolen bases. Drake set the new LCU single-season hits record with 73 hits.

Drake recently finished his 2nd season of professional baseball. As a rookie with the Alpine Cowboys in the summer of 2023, Drake started in 46 games and had a .380 batting average in 166 ABs with 59 Runs, 63 hits, 6 2B, 2 3B, 6 HR, 39 RBI, and 27 SBs. As a veteran with the Alpine Cowboys in the summer of 2024, Drake started in 46 games and had a .405 batting average in 168 ABs with 64 Runs, 68 hits, 9 2B, 2 3B, 3 HR, 34 RBI, and 53 SBs. He currently holds the single season and the overall stolen base records for the Alpine Cowboys. In his 2024 season he was awarded the Pecos League Post Season MVP Award.

Following his rookie season with the Alpine Cowboys, Drake signed a Winter league contract where he served as a player and hitting coach for the Wanneroo Giants in Perth, Australia. 

Drake is currently playing with the Boise Hawks of the MLB partnered Pioneer League.
